About

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10

Jesus spent His time on earth in ministry; He healed the sick, taught those ready to hear, and sought after those going astray. It was His mission to save, and to reveal His Father to a world that had lost sight of God. When Jesus ascended to heaven, He left words of instruction for His followers down through time: All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20

In her book The Ministry of Healing, Ellen White reminds us: There is nothing this world needs so much as a knowledge of the gospels saving power revealed in Christlike lives.” “It is our work to reveal to men the gospel of their salvation. Every enterprise in which we engage should be a means to this end.” “To reach the people, wherever they are, and whatever their position or condition, and to help them in every way possible this is true ministry. (MH 132.2, 148.2, 156.2)

Taking these words to heart, we share the sentiments of Mr William Ogden: Thus I would go on missions of mercy, following Christ from day unto day; cheering the faint, and raising the fallen, pointing the lost to Jesus the Way. Its been our privilege to join hands with the Almighty in seeking the lost, through the work of literature evangelism, through helping in our community, and through simply showing Him whom we serve by the way we live our lives. God has blessed us with many amazing opportunities and experiences. Truly, theres nothing like working for God, and seeing Him opening hearts to hope, truth, and salvation.

Let those who gain such an experience in working for the Lord write an account of it for our papers, that others may be encouraged. Let the canvasser tell of the joy and blessing he has received in his ministry as an evangelist. These reports should find a place in our papers, for they are far-reaching in their influence. They will be as sweet fragrance in the church, a savor of life unto life. Thus it is seen that God works with those who co-operate with Him. (CM 79.1)

That is the purpose of Seeking the Lost: to encourage others by testifying of Gods faithfulness, to inspire others to continue serving in whatever way theyre called, to plead for prayer support in behalf of those whom we come in contact with, and to provide an outlet for others (you!) to share their stories. All praise, honour, and thanks to our Father in heaven who gives us the incredible undeserved opportunity of being co-labourers with Him, and makes up what we lack in this precious work of Seeking the Lost.

Wed love to hear and encourage others with your testimonies too! Please head to our Submit a Testimony page to tell your experience of seeking the lost!
